For techs, in general, hospitals pay significantly more. Average starting pay at a retail pharrmacy is about $10 an hour, and at a hospital, it is closer to $14 per hour. You can make a living wage working at a hospital. For retail, you max out at about the high teens per hour with many, many years of experience. For hospital, the max is somewhere in the mid to high $20s per hour.
