Does the whole concept of religion depress anyone else?

Yes, it depresses me. I am deeply saddened to know that my friends, family, and neighbors are all so deluded. Most of these are very good people! Yet at times, some of them are rendered almost helpless by their irrational faith. They pray rather than act, they worry intensely (for themselves and their loved ones) about getting into heaven, they get in serious arguments about silly things like the need to go to church or eat fish on Fridays, and they give a good percentage of their wealth to organizations that often use the money for immoral ends (the priest's cadillac, brainwash children, acquire more art or land, etc.)
