Guys hate being played more than girls, true?

There have been some guys who thought that I was playing them. It was a misunderstanding. Regardless, at the time, these guys flipped out. Went ballistic. 1 guy got revenge by standing me up. 1 guy shouted at me then made me feel dumb by telling me to email then wouldn't respond. 1 guy yelled at me then started to har me. I might've sorta been played once by a guy but my reaction is not that severe. Why are guys so crazy about this?
