One muffler into dual pipes a good idea?

I got a 4.7 V8 durango, and i got a flowmaster super 44 on it with everything else stock. I want to know if running two pipes out the back will help increase the sound or maybe make it sound better? its a single in single out (si/so) muffler, any ideas? Would this help any running two pipes instead of one?
