Question regarding law enforcement career and sociology major.?
I've been thinking about a career in the law enforcement field for quite some time now, but am now a freshman in college and at a crossroads. Originally, I wanted to go in with a degree in sociology, that way I'd have more options in case I changed my mind within the next four years. After talking to my advisor, he suggested possibly going for a double degree in sociology and criminal justice. I started to consider this, but then began to fear that having two degrees may make me seem "overqualified" and I have heard that sometimes criminal justice degrees are looked down upon. My question is would it be more practical to do the double degree, do the sociology degree alone, or possibly a sociology degree with a criminal justice minor. Thank you for your insight.
