Indiana Handicapped parking and towing laws?

I live in an indiana apartment complex and was accidentally parked in a handicapped spot. I was in this spot because i pulled in the night before and didnt see the paint on the ground as it is a non reflective paint. The next morning my car was towed without warning. Was the towing legal?
